After days of silence following a July 21, 2025 announcement from Vtuber Ironmouse that stated she would leave VShojo as a result of a missing Immune Deficiency Foundation charity donation and funds owed to her, CEO Justin “Gunrun” Ignacio issued a statement admitting mismanagement, using money earned by performers for company operations, and shutting down the agency. This appeared on the official social media account for the organization. He also admitted that the subathon charitable donation was among “money spent by the company.”
Here is the full statement from Gunrun about the closure of VShojo and his mismanagement of the Vtuber agency. In it, he noted the issue existed for months. He claimed the company raised $11 million for its efforts, and he had been “working hard to raise additional investment capital to cover [the company’s] costs” when this happened. He noted the organization was “unsuccessful.” He also said, “I take full responsibility for the decisions that led us to this point.” The statement also included his admitting the theft of the Ironmouse charity money.

Prior to his announcement, every Vtuber already associated with VShojo left the company.
Ironmouse stated that VShojo withheld and didn’t make a $515,000 subathon donation to Immune Deficiency Foundation as planned. When she announced her departure, she also created a Tiltify campaign to benefit the charity. It passed $1 million in donations on July 23, 2025, and is at over $1.2 million as of 2:55pm ET on July 24, 2025.
The Vtuber agency VShojo first launched in November 2020, and its first members were Apricot the Lich (Froot), Hime Hajime, Ironmouse, Nyatasha Nyanners, Projekt Melody, Silvervale, and Zentreya.
