Hyte is a witch, and she’s connected to a rather infamous one. Her mother is one of the reasons the world is as dilapidated as it is. She took part in the war between witches and humans, causing massive damage everywhere. On her journey to find where her mom went, Hyke will drive around in her father’s car with her friend and fellow witch Riko, encountering enemies, and also meeting Meteos witches guarding the Forbidden Areas of the world. In addition to camping and taking on quests along the way, we’ll also see her join up with fellow witches to fight.

As a reminder, here’s a closer look at HYKE:Northern Light(s) gameplay on the Switch, PS5, and PC, showing how the exploration and combat elements of the JRPG work as the witch heads around the world.

The HYKE:Northern Light(s) will come to the Switch, PS5, and PC via Steam on September 18, 2025.
