Suikoden Stage Play and Anime Teasers Appear

It’s a Suikoden news day again, thanks to an August 2025 stream from Konami. Two of the updates involved Suikoden the Stage, a stage play based on the first game, and Suikoden the Anime, which is based on the second. Both came up during the May 2025 presentation, and there’s new key art for each and release updates.

In the case of Suikoden the Stage, we get key art showing the stage play main characters Tir McDohl, the first game’s protagonist, and Gremio. They are played by Naoki Okamura and Takuma Wada, respectively. The last Konami presentation also confirmed Ted will be played by Ryoki Nagae, Flik will be portraoyed by Takeshi James Yamada, and Ryuko Isogai is Viktor. Norihito Nakayashiki is directing the play and wrote its script. That show will run in Tokyo between December 6-14, 2025, according to social media, with the Kyoto performances happening between December 18-21, 2025.

Here’s that photo showing Tir and Gremio.

In the case of the Suikoden 2 anime adaptation, there’s an updated release window and key art from social media. It will air in Japan in 2026. We don’t know which streaming service it might appear on worldwide. Aside from the confirmed debut next year, there’s a new key art image for it as well. It showed Riou, that entry’s hero, sitting next to a fire with Jowy, his best friend. Their backs are to the viewer. Riou is reaching toward the sky.

Here’s that key art.

Suikoden the Stage shows will run in Japan in December 2025, and the anime adaptation of the second game will begin its run in 2026.
