HoYoVerse announced it is preparing to sundown the PS4 version of Genshin Impact, which will result in the game being delisted, and in-game purchases and support will be ending. It won’t be on the PlayStation Store after September 10, 2025. In-game purchases for currency and passes will end on February 2, 2026. All PS4 support will end on April 8, 2026. This follows an announcement in May 2024 that confirmed a performance drop.
In the statement, HoYoVerse blamed “hardware performance and platform application size” as the reasons for the end of updates on the system. It also noted that it will still be playable following the Game Removal and In-Game Purchases Delisting phases. It’s only when End of Update Support comes that someone would need to swap over to another platform. While the company did note this is possible immediately by going to the in-game Paimon Menu, choosing Settings, heading to Account, and visiting the User Center, it also said prompts will eventually come up automatically. The company said this will start on December 17, 2025, and it will trigger an opportunity to link the acocunt either via email or QR code.
This PS4 update came alongside other device performance requirements that will kick off with Genshin Impact 6.0 update called Song of the Welkin Moon. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are unaffected. However, here are the exact specifications for Android, iOS, and PC platforms.
